A 90-MINUTE WEBINAR FOR LANDLORDS

The Landlord Compliance Webinar: Selective Licensing & Renters Right Act Update

"The Elephant in the Room" New Croydon Landlord Licensing Scheme, HMO changes & The Renters' Rights Act - 3 Months in. Wednesday 12 August 2026 7PM - Live on Zoom

Are you a landlord in Croydon, Sutton or Bromley or in a borough where licensing is already making your life harder?

Then this is the most important landlord update you'll get before the September deadline.

Because while everyone's been focused on the Renters' Right Act, something else is about to land, and most Croydon landlords still don't know it's coming.

On 1 September 2026, Croydon Council launches its new selective licensing scheme. If your borough already has licensing, you already know what's coming. This webinar is for any landlord who wants to stay ahead.

Fourteen wards. Every privately rented property. A £800 fee, whether it's a studio flat or a five-bedroom house.

We challenged it. We pushed back on the fee. We made our case during the consultation.

They went ahead anyway.

So now we have to deal with it, and landlords who act early will be in a very different position to the ones who don't.

There are also changes to HMO rules affecting smaller properties that most landlords haven't even heard about yet.

And on top of all of that, the Renters' Rights Act has now been in place for three months. The dust is settling, but some landlords are already getting caught out.

"I didn't know" won't protect you. Penalties of up to £30,000 don't get waived because the paperwork was confusing.

That's why I'm hosting a 90-minute webinar on Wednesday 12 August at 7pm on Zoom.

No commute. No jargon. No waffle. Just sit down with a coffee and get completely clear on what's changed, what applies to you, and exactly what you need to do before that end of May deadline.

In 90 minutes, you will know:

Part 1 - The Elephant in the Room: Croydon Licensing & HMO Changes

- Which 14 wards are affected and how to check if your property is in one

- What the £800 licence actually requires you to do and what happens if you don't apply

- What inspections will look like over the five-year scheme

- HMO rule changes for smaller properties; what's tightening and when

- How overseas and non-local landlords can stay compliant without being physically present

- What the licence means if you sell the property during the scheme

Part 2 — The Renters' Rights Act: Three Months In

- What's actually changed in practice since 1 May 2026

- Where landlords are getting caught out right now

- Phase 3: the PRS Database and the new Ombudsman, and what's coming before the end of the year

Who's hosting it and why should you listen to this?

I'm Brigitte, and if you ask the landlords I work with, they'll tell you I'm the Compliance Queen of property lettings in South London.

With 30 years of property and letting experience behind me, I've seen every rule change, every shake-up and every piece of legislation this industry has thrown at landlords. I run a local estate agency specialising in property rentals and management supporting landlords across Croydon, Sutton and Bromley every single day, and my team is fully ARLA, LLAS and NRLA accredited.

We don't just read this legislation, we apply it on real tenancies in this market, day in, day out.

In May 2026 I hosted our quarterly Landlord Success Webinar on the Renters' Rights Act. 170 landlords registered. The reviews were outstanding. Landlords told us it was the clearest, most practical breakdown they'd found anywhere.

This August webinar is the follow-up they asked for.

I started running these quarterly webinars 3 years ago for one reason: too many good landlords were getting caught out, fined and stressed. Not because they were careless, but because nobody was giving them clear, honest information.

The lettings industry has a reputation problem, and I'm on a mission to fix that one informed landlord at a time.

These webinars exist to help you stay up to date, stay out of trouble, and make better decisions about your properties. No hidden agenda. Just straight answers from someone who lives and breathes this every day.

⚠️ Spaces are limited and they do fill up.

This is free. It's on Zoom.

Your sofa and a coffee is all you need.

But 1 September won't wait.
